immergrüner, kleiner Strauch bis zu 4 m mit gegenständig angeordneten, bis zu 6 gelappten, ca. 12 cm langen und 2 cm breiten, schmal-lanzettlichen, tiefgrünen Blättern. Die bis zu 3 cm großen, leuchtend gelben, 4-petaligen Blüten mit rot geflecktem Zentrum erscheinen in den Blattachseln
