schnellwüchsiger, laubabwerfender, ausladender Baum bis zu 15 m mit flaschenförmigem, dicht bestacheltem Stamm, langgestielte, gezähnte, tiefgrüne Blätter mit breiten handförmig geteilten Fiederblättern, die ca. 15 cm großen weinroten oder rosa Blüten mit weißem bis gelbem Schlund erscheinen in achsel- oder endständigen langen Trauben, meist in der laublosen Zeit. Die Blüten selbst bestehen aus 5 Blütenblättern mit weit herausragender Röhre, bestehend aus zahlreichen miteinander verwachsenen Staubgefäßen

Germination Temperature: ca. 22-25°C
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 2-4 weeks
Irrigation: in the growing season moderate water
Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + 2/3 sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 10-15°C + keep constant slightly moist
Overwintering: Older specimens bright or dark at approx. 10-15°C and just in larger intervals and small quantities so much water that the root ball not dries out completely. During the leafless time keep almost dry.
Note: drought-tolerant!
