laubabwerfender, verholzender, krautig windender Ranker mit dicht behaarten Stielen, gegenständig angeordneten, langgestielten, bis zu 10 cm langen und 5 cm breiten, dreigelappten, gefiederten, sehr variablen, tiefgrünen Blättern. Die ca. 1 cm langen, blauen oder violettfarbenen Blüten mit glockenförmigem Kelch erscheinen in bis zu 50 cm langen, länglichen Trauben in den Blattachseln
