Die langgestielten, duftenden, strahlend gelben, 5-petaligen Blüten mit sternförmig angeordneten Kelchblättern erscheinen in den Blattachseln in kleinen Büscheln, gefolgt von seeigelähnlichen, schokoladenbraunen Früchten mit kurzen, weichen Stacheln
