immergrüner Strauch bis zu 3 m mit zottigen Stengeln und wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 17 cm langen und 7 cm breiten, eiförmigen bis elliptischen, unterseits zart behaarten, tiefgrünen Blättern mit langer Spitze. Die kleinen, cremefarbenen Blüten erscheinen in bis zu 9 cm langen, aufrechten Ähren in den Blattachseln
