immergrüner Strauch oder kleiner Baum bis ca. 5 m mit gegenständig oder wirtelig angeordneten, gestielten, breit- oder verkehrt eiförmigen, ledrigen, oberseits glänzend tiefgrünen, unterseits helleren Blättern mit heller Mittelrippe und auffälliger Nervatur. Die großen, wachsartigen, rosafarbenen oder weißen Blüten erscheinen in den Blattachseln und verströmen einen leicht, süßlichen Duft. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich langgestielte, kleine kronförmige rote Beerenfrüchte

Sowing Instruction
Propagation: Seeds/Cuttings
Sowing Time: all year round
Sowing Deep: Light germinator! Only sprinkle on the surface of the substrate + slightly press on
Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature: ca. 25°C > irregular
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: until germination takes place
Irrigation: in the growing season regularly water + always free of lime with room temperature water
Fertilization: monthly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Scale insects, Mealy bugs, Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: slightly acid, humus substrate (pH 5.5 6.5) + sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 20°C + keep constant slightly moist
Overwintering: Older specimens bright with at least 15-20°C, and to water with warm rain water only so much that the root ball not dries out completely, and to spray daily. From November to spring the location may be sunny, in the remaining time, partial shade.
Note: Indoor suitable!
