immergrüner Ranker bis ca. 6 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, 3-gelappten, ledrigen, breit ovalen, langgestielten, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern, bestehend aus bis zu 10 cm langen Fiederblättchen. Die großen, violettfarbenen Blüten mit grünlich-gelber Zeichnung, erscheinen in den Blattachseln
