immergrüner, hoher Baum bis ca. 30 m mit buschiger, ausladender Krone und wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 15 cm langen, lanzettlichen, ledrigen, oberseits tiefgrünen Blättern (im Jugendstadium gegenständig angeordnet, bis zu 13 cm lang, lanzettlich, oberseits tiefgrün mit oftmals pinkfarbenen Blattnerven). Die intensiv nach Honig duftenden, weißen Blüten erscheinen in vielblütigen, lockeren Büscheln in den Blattachseln
