rhizombildender, laubabwerfender, krautiger Ranker bis zu 3 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, langen, schmalen, sattgrünen Blättern. Die röhrenförmigen, 6-petaligen, außen pink-grünlich-gelben, innen dunkel gepunkteten Blüten erscheinen mit bis zu 10 Einzelblüten in hängenden Dolden am Ende der Zweige. Die ausgebildenten Knollen dieser Art sind eßbar!
