starkwüchsige, laubabwerfende, verholzende Schlingpflanze (Liane) bis ca. 25 m mit wechselständig angeordneten gefiederten Blättern, die sich aus paarig angeordneten, bis zu 8 cm langen und 4 cm breiten, elliptischen bis verkehrt eiförmigen, tiefgrünen Fiedern mit heller Mittelrippe zusammensetzen. Die bis zu 25-50 cm langen, hängenden Blüten, bestehen aus zahlreichen kleinen, grünlich- oder creme-gelben Einzelblüten und erscheinen in dichten Ähren in den Blattachseln.
