vielverzweigter, dorniger kleiner Strauch oder Baum bis zu 5 m und wechselständig angeordneten, ovalen oder breit ovalen, bis zu 15 cm langen und 13 cm breiten, 5-7 tiefgelappten, dunkelgrünen, unterseits weißen Blättern. Die weiß-violetten Blütenstände bestehen aus bis zu 10 Einzelblüten und erscheinen in den Blattachseln, denen grüne, bei Reife gelbe Früchte folgen
