mehrjähriger, verholzender Ranker bis zu 10 m mit gegenständig angeordneten, 3-gelappten, bis zu 8 cm langen, lanzettlichen, glänzend mittelgrünen bis bläulich-grünen Blättern mit auffallend gelber Nervatur. Die röhrenförmigen, mit nach hinten geschlagenen, 5-petaligen, rosa-bis scharlachroten Blüten und 5 herausragenden Staubgefäßen erscheinen paarweise in den Blattachseln
