immergrüne, mehrjährige, rhizombildende Staude bis zu 4 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, ca. 90 cm langen und 15 cm breiten schmal lanzettlichen, mittelgrünen Blättern. Die duftenden Blüten erscheinen in endständigen, ca. 30 cm hohen Rispen, bestehend aus zahlreichen, weissen Blüten mit gelb, rot gestreifter Lippe (Labellum)
