immergrüner oder auch laubabwerfender, buschiger Strauch bis ca. 3 m mit langen, peitschenförmigen Trieben, gegenständig angeordneten, bis zu 20 cm langen, unpaarig gefiederten Blättern, bestehend aus paarig angeordneten, bis zu 7, oberseits glänzend tiefgrünen Blättchen mit gesägten Blatträndern und einem endständigen Blatt. Die bis zu 5 cm langen, röhrenförmigen, leuchtend zitronengelben Blüten mit weit herausragenden Staubfäden erscheinen in endständigen Büscheln mit bis zu 15 Einzelblüten
