laubabwerfender, hoher Strauch oder vielstämmiger, kleiner, ausladender Baum bis ca. 4,5 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, tief gelappten, bis zu 18 cm großen, unterseits zart behaarten, tiefgrünen Blättern und großen, gefüllten, Blüten, die einen Durchmeßer von mehr 15 cm erreichen können, wobei sich die Blütenfarbe innerhalb von 3 Tagen von reinweiß über tief pinkfarben bis hin zu kräftig, bläulich pink verändert
