immergrüner oder auch laubabwerfender Kletterstrauch bis ca. 3 m (am Naturstandort bis zu 15 m) mit gegenständig angeordneten, länglich ovalen bis elliptischen tiefgrünen Blättern. Die duftenden, trichterförmigen, außen creme-weißen Blüten mit rötlich-pinkfarbenem gestreiften Schlund und bis zu 18 cm langen, herabhängenden, gelappten Kronzipfeln erscheinen einzeln oder in kleinen Gruppen am Ende der Triebe
