immergrüner, kleiner Strauch bis ca. 1,5 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, gefiederten Blättern, bestehend aus bis zu 20 gegenständig angeordneten, bis zu 1 cm langen. länglich-ovalen, zart behaarten, grau-grünen Blättchen und einem endständigen Blatt. Die bis zu 3,5 cm langen, hängenden, knallroten Schmetterlingsblüten erscheinen in langgestielten Trauben in den Blattachseln
