immergrüner, mehrjähriger, dicht verzweigter Strauch oder kleiner Baum mit doppelt gefiederten, tiefgrünen Blättern und pinselartigen Blütenköpfen. Die roten, tief eingeschnittenen Kelchblätter der Einzelblüten werden überragt von unzähligen, langen Staubfäden. Diese sind an der Basis weiß und verfärben sich zur Spitze hin purpur-rosa
