schnellwüchsiger, stark verzweigter, bedornter Strauch oder kleiner Baum bis ca. 4,5 m mit in Büscheln oder gegenständig angeordneten, gelappten (seltener einfachen) Blättern, die sich aus 3 bis zu 1,3 cm langen und 0,5 cm breiten, eiförmigen, tiefgrünen Blättchen zusammensetzen. Die kleinen, röhrenförmigen, 5-petaligen, strahlend gelben Blüten erscheinen einzeln entlang der Zweige direkt neben den Blattknoten
