laubabwerfender, mehrjähriger, aufrechter, an der Basis verholzender, krautiger Strauch bis ca. 2 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, langgestielten, tief eingeschnittenen, 3- bis 7-gelappten, tiefgrünen Blättern, oftmals mit gezähnten Blatträndern und großen, sternförmig angeordneten, 5-petaligen, scharlachroten Blüten

Germination Temperature: ca. 22-25°C
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 2-4 weeks
Irrigation: in the growing season richly water
Fertilization: weekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + sand or perlite
Culture: hell bei ca. 10-15°C + konstant feucht halten
Overwintering: Ältere Exemplare hell bei ca. 0-5°C und der Umgebungstemperatur entsprechend nur soviel gießen, daß der Wurzelballen nicht völlig austrocknet. Die oberirdischen Triebe sterben ab und treiben im Frührjahr aus dem Wurzelballen wieder aus!
