immergrüner, kleiner, vielverzweigter Strauch bis ca. 4 m mit behaarten Stengeln und wachsen aus einem holzigen Wurzelstock, gegenständig angeordneten, länglich ovalen bis elliptischen, bis zu behaarten, tiefgrünen Blättern. Die hell lilafarbenen Blüten mit weit herausragenden Staubblättern und gelber Kronröhre erscheinen in Büscheln am Ende der Triebe
