immergrüner, kleiner, kompakter, ausladender Strauch bis zu 1 m mit nur einem Stamm und wechselständig oder spiralig angeordneten, elliptischen, bis zu 6 cm langen und 2,5 cm breiten, ledrigen, silbrig-grau behaarten Blättern, manchmal mit gewelltem Rand. Die bis zu 4 cm großen, zunächst leuchtend gelben über orange und mit zunehmendem Alter strahlend roten Blütenköpfe erscheinen mit bis zu 5 Einzelblüten in Gruppen am Ende der Triebe
