rhizombildendes, halbaquatisches Aronstabgewächs bis zu 4 m mit konisch wachsendem Pseudostamm und rosettenförmig angeordneten, großen, bis zu 1,5 m langen, pfeilförmigen, sattgrünen Blättern. Der aufrechte Blütenstand besteht aus einem Spadix mit cremefarbener Spatha. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich, bei Reife strahlend gelbe Beeren
