mehrjährige, stammlose, kleine Zwiebelpflanze mit nur 2 gegenständig angeordneten, niederliegenden, ledrigen, lanzettlichen, blau-grünen Blättern. Der grundständige Blütenstand besteht aus zahlreichen, kleinen Blüten, umgeben von großen, weinroten Hüllblättern und unterseits oftmals mit grüner Zeichnung
