Synonyme: Solanum circinatum

immergrüner Strauch bis zu 2 m oder kleiner Baum bis zu 5 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, langgestielten, bis zu 30 cm langen und 13 cm breiten, eiförmigen, lang zugespitzten, an der Basis herzförmigen, oberseits glänzend tiefgrünen, unterseits zart behaarten Blättern (im Jugendstadium oftmals tiefgelappt, 45 cm lang und 25 cm breit. Die kleinen, duftenden, violettfarbenen Blüten erscheinen in langgestielten Trugdolden in den oberen Blattacheln. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich eßbare, an überdimensionalen langen Stielen ei-, oval- oder elliptische, bei Vollreife gelbe Früchte
