immergrüner, verholzender, stark bedornter Kletterstrauch oder kleiner Baum bis zu 6 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, doppelt gefiederten Blättern, bestehend aus bis zu 20 paarig angeordneten, kleinen, ovalen, oberseits, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättchen und ca. 30 cm langen, aufrechten Blütenripsen, bestehend aus zahlreichen, gelben Einzelblüten mit orangefarbener Zeichnung, denen bei Reife, dekorative, orangefarbene, stachelige Samenhülsen folgen.
Samen werden gern zur Schmuckherstellung verwendet!

Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass

Culture: bright at approx. 15-20°C + keep constant slightly moist
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at least 15°C and just so much to water that the root ball not dries out completely.
