immergrüner, hoher, vielverzweigter Baum bis zu 30 m mit zylindrischem Stamm und bis zu 1,2 m langen und 22 cm breiten, ledrigen, lanzettlichen, tiefgrünen Blättern mit auffälliger Nervatur, die spiralförmig gehäuft am Ende der Zweige erscheinen. Die bis zu 10 cm großen, wachsartigen, 4-petaligen, strahlend gelben Blüten mit ca. 210 Staubgefäßen erscheinen einzeln oder in bis zu 35 cm langen, dichten Trauben vorwiegend an den warzigen Auswüchsen am Stamm (Kauliflorie). Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich eßbare, große, braune, ovale bis kugelige Früchte mit gelbem bis orangefarbenem, nussigem, nach Mandeln schmeckendem Fruchtfleisch

Overwintering: Older specimens bright at approx. 15-20°C, and according to ambient temperature keep slightly moist.
