laubabwerfender Strauch oder Baum bis zu 20 m (in Kübelkultur bis zu 3 m) mit knorrigem Stamm und Zweigen (im Jugendstadium dornig), wechselständig angeordneten, langgestielten, 3-zähligen, bis zu 15 cm langen, mittelgrünen Blättern. Die bis zu 4 cm langen, leuchtend scharlachroten oder orangefarbenen Blüten erscheinen in bis zu 15 cm langen, dichten Büscheln sowohl in aufrechten als auch in waagerechten Blütenständen während der laublosen Zeit

Pre-Treatment: scarify/roughen + soak ca. 24-48 h in lukewarm water, repeat the procedure for non-swollen seed

Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature: ca. 25°C+
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 2-4 weeks
Irrigation: in the growing season regularly water
Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + sand or perlite
Culture: in the 1st year keep bright at least 15ºC until formed first wood + should be watered only drop by drop
Overwintering: Older specimens bright or dark at approx. 10-15°C, and according to ambient temperature to water only in larger intervals and in small amounts that the root ball not dries out completely. At temperatures at approx. 5-10ºC keep dry absolutely.
