immergrüner, dichtbelaubter Strauch oder Baum bis ca. 4 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 15 cm langen, schmal lanzettlichen, glänzend sattgrünen Blättern. Die langgestielten, ca. 7 cm langen, duftenden, cremefarbenen, trichterförmigen Blüten erscheinen einzeln oder in Büscheln am Zweigende. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich große, bei Reife schwarze Steinfrüchte
