rhizombildender, mehrjähriger, laubabwerfender, krautiger Ranker bis zu 3 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, langen, schmalen, sattgrünen Blättern. Die röhrenförmigen, gelb-orangefarbenen Blüten, rötlichen Tepalen (Blütenhüllblätter) mit dunkel gesprenkeltem Schlund erscheinen mit bis zu 60 Einzelblüten in hängenden Dolden am Ende der Zweige

Propagation: Seeds/Division
Stratification: ca. 3 weeks in moist substrate at approx. 20°C, then 3 weeks at 0-5°C in the fridge or unheated greenhouse, then at 20°C again
Sowing Time: all year round
Sowing Deep: ca. 0,5 cm
Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature: ca. 20°C
Location: bright + keep constant slightly moist, not wet
Germination Time: until germination takes place
Irrigation: in the growing season regularly water
Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: slightly acid substrate (pH 5,5 - 6,5) + 2/3 sand or perlite
Culture: ca. 1-2 years bright or dark at approx. 5-10ºC in unheated greennhouse + keep only slightly moist
Overwintering: Older specimens bright or dark at approx. 0-5°C and just in larger intervals and small quantities so much to water that the root ball not dries out completely. During the leafless time keep almost dry.
Note: In milden Gegenden kann an einem geschützten Standort mit entsprechend dicker Mulchschicht ins Freiland gepflanzt werden.
