immergrüner kleiner, ein- oder auch mehrstämmiger, bedornter Baum bis zu 13 m mit grau-brauner Rinde und wechselständig angeordneten, ca. 5 cm langen, kurzgestielten, breit ovalen, am Rand gezähnten, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern mit auffälliger Nervatur (junges Laub, weich und samtig). Die kleinen, achselständigen, orange-gelben Blüten erscheinen büschelweise in den Blattachseln, (männliche und weibliche Blüten sitzen auf separaten Pflanzen, wobei nur die weiblichen Bäume Früchte tragen), gefolgt von ca. 2,5 cm langen, eiförmigen, eßbaren, bei Reife orangefarbenen Beerenfrüchte

Germination Temperature: ca. 22-25°C
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 3-6 weeks
Irrigation: in the growing season moderate water
Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + 2/3 sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 110-5°C + keep constantly moist
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at about 5-10°C and according to ambient temperature in larger intervals and only water in small quantities that the root ball not dries out completely.
Note: drought-resistant!
