immergrüner Strauch oder Baum bis ca. 8 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 9,5 cm langen breit-elliptischen, ledrigen, oberseits zart behaarten, unterseits dicht behaarten, hellgrünen Blättern mit unregelmäßig gesägten Blatträndern. Die strahlend gelben Blüten erscheinen in kleinen achselständigen Gruppen, denen eßbare, bei Reife gelbliche oder rötliche Früchte folgen
