immergrüner Schlinger bis zu 15 m mit tiefgrünen Blättern, bestehend aus 2-3 länglich ovalen bis elliptischen, ca. 10 cm langen Blättchen, die an der Spitze mit 3-gegabelten, krallenartigen, zurückgebogenen Haken ausgestattet sind. Diese können somit auch an Häuserwänden ohne Kletterhilfe ranken. Die bis zu 8 cm langen, röhren- bis glockenförmigen, leuchtend gelben Blüten mit orangefarbenen Streifen im Schlund erscheinen in den Blattachseln
