langsamwüchsiger, immergrüner Baum bis zu 30 m (manchmal Brettwurzeln bildend), mit gegenständig angeordneten, bis zu 16,5 cm langen und 1,6 cm breit ovalen, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern und tiefrotem bis bronzefarbenem Neuaustrieb. Die weißen, 4-petaligen Blüten erscheinen in dichten Büscheln in den Blattachseln, denen eßbare, runde fleischige, weiße-cremefarbene Früchte folgen
