Erdbeerbaum, Strawberry Tree

immergrüner, ausladender Strauch oder Baum bis ca. 12 m mit rötlich brauner Rinde und wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 10 cm langen, ovalen, glänzend tiefgrünen, am Rand leicht gezähnten Blättern. Die hängenden, kleinen maiglöckchenähnlichen, weißen bis zartrosafarbenen Blüten erscheinen in bis zu 6 cm langen Rispen, gefolgt von kleinen runden, bei Reife roten Früchten in hängenden Büscheln. Das Fruchtfleisch ist mehlig und von fadem Geschmack!
