immergrüne, mehrjährige, rhizombildende Staude bis zu 10 m mit fächerförmig angeordneten, großen, langgestielten, ledrigen, glänzend tiefgrünen Blättern. Die weiß-blauen Blüten entwickeln sich aus den Blattscheiden, die von einem, purpurblauen, kahnförmigen Hochblatt getragen werden

Pre-Treatment: remove orange tufts + soaking ca. 24-48 h in saltpeter, buttermilk or in warm water with some fluidly soft soap
Sowing Time: all year round > spring/summer preferred
Sowing Deep: ca. 1 cm
Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature: ca. 25-28°C
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 4-24 weeks > irregular
Irrigation: in the growing season regularly water
Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites, Scale insects > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 10-15°C + keep constantly moist
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at about 5-10°C and according to ambient temperature in larger intervals and only water in small quantities that the root ball not dries out completely.
Note: Indoor culture is possible with high humidity and light!
