laubabwerfender Halbstrauch bis zu 2,5 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 12 cm langen, silbrig erscheinenden, grau-grünen Blättern, bestehend aus 3-5 lanzettlichen bis ovalen, tiefgelappten Blättchen. Die im Durchmesser bis zu 12 cm großen, süßlich duftenden, weißen Blüten mit krepppapierähnlichen Petalen und goldgelben Staubgefäßen im Zentrum erscheinen einzeln an den Zweigenden.
Am Naturstandort ist Romneya immergrün!

Sowing Instruction
Propagation: Seeds/Cuttings/Suckers
Stratification: ca. 2-3 months in moist sowing mix at 2-5°C in the fridge or unheated greenhouse
Sowing Time: all year round > fall/winter preferred
Sowing Deep: Light germinator! Only sprinkle on the surface of the substrate + slightly press on
Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature: ca. 10-15°C
Location: bright + keep constant slightly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 10 weeks to 1 year > irregular + difficult
Irrigation: in the growing season moderate water
Fertilization: monthly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Caterpillars, Snails, Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + 2/3 sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 15-20°C + constantly slightly moist. Increase the temperature over several weeks only slowly!
Overwintering: Older specimens light or dark at 0-5ºC and water only sporadically in larger intervals and small quantities. In mild areas, a thick layer of mulch can be planted in a dry, sheltered location.
Note: The plants freeze back above ground and usually drift out of the base in spring. Keep young plants in the cold house for about 2-3 years
