Pre-Treatment: soak ca. 24-48 h in lukewarm water
Sowing Time: all year round
Sowing Deep: ca. 0,5 cm
Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature: ca. 20-23°C
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 2-4 weeks
Irrigation: in the growing season richly water + let dry between watering
Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: potting soil + sand or perlite
Culture: ca. 2-3 years bright or dark at about 5-10°C in unheated greenhouse + keep slightly moist only
Overwintering: After this time period can be planted in a sheltered location outdoors. Container plants bright or dark at approx. 0-5°C, and according to ambient temperature just so much water that the root ball not dries out completely.
Note: Verschiedenen Aussaagen zufolge soll Punica granatum bis zu -15ºC vertragen. In milden Gegenden könnte ein Auspflanzversuch ins Freiland, an einem sonnigen, geschützten Standort durchaus gewagt werden.
