schnellwüchsiger, vielverzweigter, breitkroniger, immergrüner Strauch bis zu 6 m oder hoher Baum bis zu 30 m mit wechselständig angeordneten, bis zu 27 cm langen und ca. 21 unpaarig gefiederten Blättern, die sich aus ca. 20 paarig angeordneten, ca. 12 cm langen und 3,6 cm breiten, länglich ovalen, ledrigen, oberseits glänzend tiefgrünen, unterseits helleren Blättchen und einem endständigen Blatt zusammensetzen. Die kleinen, creme-weißen Blüten erscheinen in bis zu 35 cm langen Rispen sowohl in den Blattachseln als auch am Ende der Triebe. Aus den Blüten entwickeln sich eßbare, kleine, rundliche, rote, bei Reife orangefarbene Steinfrüchte
