immergrüner, dicht verzweigter, hoher, mehrstämmiger Strauch oder kleiner Baum bis zu 6 m mit vierkantigen Zweigen und kreuzgegenständig angeordneten, langgestielten, großen, breit eiförmigen bis verkehrt eiförmigen, ledrigen, oberseits glänzend tiefgrünen, unterseits hellgrünen Blättern mit auffälliger Nervatur. Die bis zu 7,6 cm großen roten Blüten mit creme-gelben Staubbeuteln und fein liniertem Saum färben sich mit zunehmendem Alter in purpur- und violettfarbenen Schattierungen und erscheinen in hängenden Rispen am Ende der Triebe

Sowing Deep: Light germinator! Only sprinkle on the surface of the substrate + slightly press on
Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature: ca. 15-20°C
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: ca. 3-12 weeks
Irrigation: in the growing season regularly water + let dry between watering
Fertilization: biweekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Aphids, Scale insects, Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: slightly acid, humoses substrate (pH 5.5 6.5) + sand or perlite
Culture: bright at approx. 15-20°C + keep constant slightly moist
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at approx. 10-15°C, and only so much water that the root ball not dries out completely. From November to spring the location may be sunny, in the remaining time, partial shade.
Note: Irrigation with rain water or bottled water only
