immergrüner, vielverzweigter, kleiner Strauch bis ca. 2 m mit zart behaarten Zweigen und wechselständig angeordneten, ca. 2 cm langen und 0,6 cm breiten, elliptischen bis schmal lanzettlichen, tiefgrünen Blättern mit auffälliger Mittelrippe. Die ca. 0,8 cm ø strahlend gelb- bis goldgelben Blüten mit rötlich-braunen oder auch violettfarbenen Zeichnungen erscheinen einzeln, in kleinen Gruppen oder in Trauben mit bis zu 7 Einzelblüten in den Blattachseln
