laubabwerfender Baum bis 30 m mit wasserspeicherndem Stamm und wechselständig angeordneten, langgestielten, glänzend dunkelgrünen, tiefgelappten, ca. 15 cm langen, herz- oder handförmigen, unterseits dicht behaarten Blättern. Die ca. 3-5 cm großen, glockenförmigen, pinkfarbenen oder roten Blüten erscheinen in Büscheln in den Blattachseln am Ende der Zweige. Während der Blütezeit ist der Baum nahezu laublos

Overwintering: Older specimens bright at approx. 5-10°C and water only sporadically in larger intervals and small quantities, The foliage is dropped at cooler temperatures and keep dry during the leafless time.
