laubabwerfender, dorniger Baum bis zu 30 m mit flacher, ausladender Krone und bis 16 cm langen und 7 cm breiten, langgestielten, handförmigen, tiefgrünen Blättern. Die ca. 8 cm großen weißen Blüten mit weit zurückgebogenen Petalen, hellgrünem Blütenkelch und den unzähligen Staubfäden mit 5 sehr langen, zusammengepressten, pinkfarbenen Griffeln mit violettfarbener Narbe, erscheinen am Ende der Zweige
