Die zwittrigen, duftenden, grünlich-gelben, langgestielten, bis zu 3,5 cm langen Röhrenblüten erscheinen einzeln an den jungen Trieben am Zweigende, aus denen sich ca. 2,5 cm große, gefolgt von ca. 2,5 cm großen, länglich-ovalen, glänzend blau-violetten, eßbaren Beeren

Pre-Treatment: pour hot water over the seeds + soak ca. 24-48 h
Sowing Time: all year round > spring/summer preferred
Sowing Deep: cover only slightly with substrate
Sowing Mix: Coir or sowing mix + sand or perlite
Germination Temperature: ca. 15-23°C
Location: bright + keep constantly moist, not wet
Germination Time: until germination takes place > irregular + difficult
Irrigation: in the growing season regularly water
Fertilization: weekly 0,2%ig or long-term fertilizer
Pests: Spider mites > especially under glass
Substrate: slightly acid substrate (pH 5,5 - 6,5) + sand or perlite
Culture: in the 1st year bright at approx. 5-10ºC in unheated greennhouse + keep slightly moist only
Overwintering: Older specimens bright at approx. 5-10°C, and just so much water that the root ball not dries out completely. A planting attempt with a thick mulch layer in a sheltered position could be ventured in mild areas.
Note: The above-ground part of the plant dies off and sprout again in the spring
