immergrüner oder laubabwerfender, kleiner Baum bis zu 12 m (am Naturstandort bis zu 25 m) mit flacher Krone, wechselständig angeordneten, doppelt gefiederten, oberseits glänzend tiefgrünen Blättchen und duftenden, cremefarbenen Blüten in Ähren. Das Gummi des Baumes wird zur Herstellung von Süßigkeiten verwendet!
